Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has arrested Mehfuz alias Vishal Khan, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldi Brar gang, in a joint operation with the Mohali police, officials said on Saturday.
He said that one pistol and five live cartridges have been recovered from the accused. Police said Vishal was the mastermind behind the September 2024 firing incident at an IELTS center in Derabassi and was absconding since then.
The accused, described as a histrionics, was planning to carry out the incident in Tricity. The police said that he was working on the instructions of foreign terrorist Goldie Brar from 2023. The accused received the consignment of arms from gangster Joginder alias Joga, who had provided arms and logistical support to those involved in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case.
