Chennai, January 19

A video of V. Kamakoti, director of IIT Madras, has gone viral on social media in which he is allegedly talking about the ‘medicinal properties’ of Gaumutra. He reportedly talked about the ‘anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and digestive improving properties’ of cow urine. He said that it is effective in conditions like ‘Irritable Bowel Syndrome’ related to the large intestine and he advocated its ‘medicinal properties’. He said this while addressing a program organized at the Cow Conservation Shala on Mattu Pongal (January 15, 2025). He made this remark during the program with reference to an incident in the life of a monk who drank cow urine when he was suffering from high fever. On the other hand, Congress leader Karti P. Chidambaram condemned the comments and said, “It is unacceptable for the director of IIT Madras to say such things.”-News-Patiala
