The police of different police stations have registered cases against four persons, including a woman, who cheated lakhs of rupees by pretending to send them abroad. Palwinder Singh, a resident of village Shahshamsh Batala, has told the Police of Thana Model Town that an immigration company located in Ishmit Chowk, Model Town, did not obtain a visa after obtaining 9 lakh rupees from him to send his wife Gagandeep Kaur to study VJ in England. Only the money has been returned. Similarly, Manpreet Singh, a resident of village Jaipura Tehsil Payal, told the police of Focal Point Police Station that two people from Dhandari Khurd and Bhanohar residents have cheated him by getting 16 lakh rupees from him and getting a fake visa to send him to America. The police have registered a case.
