In Bihar’s West Champaran district, seven people died due to alleged consumption of poisoned liquor after which the administration has ordered an inquiry. An official said that the police came to know about the deaths today. However, the first death occurred four days ago and all seven bodies had already been cremated. SP Saurya Suman said that all the deaths took place in Lauria police station area. Locals have attributed the deaths to poisoned liquor, while the SP said that alcohol was not the cause of the deaths of the two persons. Suman said that one person was hit by the tractor while the other was paralyzed. West Champaran Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Sumit Kumar said it was difficult to ascertain the cause of death as all the bodies were cremated. He said that the investigation team has been directed to submit the report within 24 hours. -News-Patiala
