In Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, a fire broke out today due to a cylinder bursting in Sector-19 of the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela, due to which 18 tents got burnt. Government officials said that there is no news of any loss of life in this accident.
Kumbh Mela Chief Fire Brigade Officer Pramod Sharma said that the fire has engulfed 18 tents. He said that 15 fire brigade vehicles are on the spot to control the fire. He said that the fire has been brought under control and the situation is under control. Earlier, Bhaskar Mishra, in-charge of Akhara police station of Mahakumbh Nagar, said that two LPG cylinders exploded in Sector-19 of Mahakumbh Mela, which caused a terrible fire in the tents. A video clip has also been shared on social media in which black smoke can be seen rising from the affected area.
Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party expressed grief over the incident and asked the government to immediately carry out relief and rescue operations.
It may be mentioned that Mahakumbh 2025 started on January 13 on the occasion of Poh Di Punya and will continue till February 26. According to the official data received, more than 7.72 crore people have bathed in the Sangam. According to officials, more than 46.95 lakh devotees have taken a dip in the holy confluence today alone. -News-Patiala
Yogi Adityanath gave information to Prime Minister Modi
Officials said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also visited the incident site. According to officials, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received complete information from Chief Minister Adityanath about the fire incident in the Mahakumbh Mela area. According to him, the Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister of all the facts and told that the fire brigade as well as the teams of NDRF and SDRF brought the fire under control. There was no loss of life and no one was injured in the incident.’
