Sri Lankan President Anura Kumar Dissanayake will begin a three-day visit to India from Sunday. This will be his first foreign trip after assuming office. Dissanayake will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu during his visit to India from December 15 to 17. Dissanayake will be accompanied by External Affairs Minister Vijitha Herth and Deputy Finance Minister Anil Jayanta Fernando. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in New Delhi that Dissanayake’s visit to India is expected to further strengthen the multilateral and mutually beneficial bilateral relations between the two countries. He was elected the President of Sri Lanka on 23 September. -News-Patiala
