Deputy Chief of Haryana Women’s Commission and driver arrested on charges of taking bribe

Haryana Women’s Commission Deputy Chief Sonia Agarwal and her driver Kulbir were today arrested by the state’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on charges of accepting bribe. The ACB team caught Kulbir red-handed by accepting a bribe of one lakh rupees. According to the bureau spokesperson, the ACB team received a complaint in which the complainant stated that he was a teacher and was married to a woman from a village in Jhajjar district.

The complainant said that his wife is a sub-inspector in Haryana Police. After marriage, there was a family dispute between the two. Thereafter, the complainant’s wife filed an application against him on November 25 with the Haryana Women’s Commission. After this application, Sonia Aggarwal called her several times on different dates regarding the above dispute. Meanwhile, Agarwal’s driver demanded a bribe from the complainant to settle the matter. According to the statement of the spokesperson, On December 12, Sonia Aggarwal asked the complainant to pay a bribe of Rs one lakh to her driver Kulbir to settle the matter. Agarwal’s driver Kulbir asked the complainant to pay Rs 1 lakh as bribe at Hisar on December 14. Meanwhile, two teams of ACB have caught the driver Kulbir red-handed after taking a bribe of one lakh rupees in Hisar’s Jindal Park. In this case, Sonia Agarwal has been arrested from Kharkhora. -News-Patiala
