Raj Kumar, a junior sports officer at the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), was honored for his outstanding achievement at the recently concluded fourth Para Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China. Partnering with Chirag Baretha, an ITO from Uttarakhand, Raj Kumar secured a silver medal in the men’s doubles badminton event.

In a nail-biting semifinal match against a formidable Vietnamese pair, the Indian duo faced a significant challenge. Despite losing the first set 16-21, Raj Kumar and Chirag Baretha displayed remarkable composure and determination, reclaiming the match with victories in the subsequent sets, 21-17 and 21-15. This hard-fought win propelled them into the final showdown.
The gold medal match presented a formidable challenge as they faced their Indonesian opponents. In a closely contested final, Raj Kumar and Chirag Baretha narrowly missed the top spot, securing the silver medal with pride and honor.
