The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) informed that the earthquake occurred at 1:13 AM IST, with its epicenter located at a depth of 10 km near the town of Rupnagar.
Fortunately, there were no reports of casualties or any damage to property. However, the tremors were felt by residents of Ropar and nearby areas, who were awakened by the sudden shaking.
