Patiala: Sikh Holy Book Desecrated in Gurdwara Sahib, One Arrested

In a shocking incident of blasphemy, unidentified miscreants tore pages of the Sikh holy book Guru Granth Sahib and set them on fire at a Gurdwara Sahib in Patiala district of Punjab on Thursday evening.

The incident took place at Gurdwara Sahib in Mohalgarh village near Devigarh town. On learning about the incident, a large number of villagers gathered at the Gurdwara Sahib and informed the police.

Senior police officers reached the village and continued to investigate the incident from all aspects. CCTV cameras installed in the Gurdwara Sahib were also checked.

Police arrested one person in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.

Constituency MLA Harmeet Singh Pathan Majra also reached the spot and inquired about the incident.

The incident has sparked outrage among the Sikh community, with many people taking to social media to condemn the act.
