Rajasthan: Minor girl gang-raped and burnt alive in a coal furnace

News Patiala:- A shocking case of rape and murder has come to light from the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, where a 14-year-old girl who had gone to graze goats was allegedly gang-raped by four men and then burnt alive in a coal furnace. The incident took place on Wednesday night in a village under Kotri police station area. The police have detained three suspects and are looking for the fourth one.

How the crime was discovered

According to the elder brother of the victim, she had left home with goats at 8 am on Wednesday morning. Around 3 pm, the goats returned home but she did not. The family members and villagers searched for her in the houses and fields of all the relatives in the village, but could not find her.

At around 8 pm, they resumed their search and reached a coal-making furnace outside the village, where some Kalbelia people had set up their camp. They noticed that the furnace was burning despite the rains, which raised their suspicion. When they approached the furnace, they found the victim’s shoes, a silver bracelet, and some bone fragments in the fire. They also caught some Kalbelia people and handed them over to the police.

What the police are saying

SP Adarsh Sidhu said that a girl was murdered and burnt in a coal furnace. The names of four people were revealed in the investigation, out of which three have been detained. He said that the possibility of rape cannot be ruled out, but it is being investigated. He said that the forensic team was called to the spot at night and again on Thursday morning to collect evidence. He assured me that the case will be solved by evening.
