Punjab Government Amends Age Proof Rules for Pensioners

News Patiala: The Punjab Government has amended the age proof rules for pensioners under the 1966 Rules for Financial Assistance Grant for Pensioners for Old Age Pension, Widow and Homeless Women, Dependent Children, and Disabled Persons.

New Age Proof Rules

The new amendment makes Aadhaar card mandatory as age proof. Additionally, a voter card or voter list, a birth certificate issued by a competent authority, or a Matriculation certificate can be submitted.

 

Why the Amendment?

The amendment was made for the convenience of pensioners, who often faced difficulties in presenting their school certificates.

The amendment will make it easier for pensioners to avail of their benefits. It will also help to make the pension system more transparent and efficient.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the amendment has been made for the convenience of the pensioners, as they used to face difficulties in presenting their school certificates.
