News Patiala: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will release an amount of Rs 71.50 crore on Wednesday to help the flood victims in the state. The money will be used to provide relief to those who have lost their homes, property, and livestock in the floods.
Minister Brahm Shankar Zimpa, who is in charge of revenue, rehabilitation, and disaster management, said that the state government has no shortage of funds to deal with the disaster. He said that Rs 33.50 crore has already been released to the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) for relief work.
Zimpa directed all DCs to deliver rations, medicines, and other essential items to the flood victims as soon as possible. He also asked them to identify dilapidated houses and take people to safe places.
The minister encouraged the DCs to save animals, manage their feed, and ensure delivery of essential medicines. He also directed the concerned departments to fulfill the demands made by the DCs to deal with the floods.
