News Patiala: 29 July- The Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has established a control room to provide free paddy paneri to flood-affected farmers. Farmers whose crops have been damaged due to floods can contact the control room at 77106-65725 from 8 am to 9.30 pm.
The control room has been set up in accordance with the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to help farmers in this natural calamity. The state government is committed to providing paddy plantations in the areas where crops have been damaged due to floods.
The Agriculture Minister, Gurmeet Singh Khudian, has directed all Chief Agriculture Officers of the state to ensure that flood-affected farmers get no difficulty in taking advantage of the free paddy paneri scheme. He has also directed the Chief Agriculture Officers to ensure supply of quality seeds and fertilizers to all the farmers.
The Special Chief Secretary of the Agriculture Department, K.A.P. Sinha, has informed the Cabinet Minister that teams have been formed by the department to check fake seeds and fertilizers and strict action will be taken against violators.
Secretary of Agriculture Department Arshdeep Singh Thind, Director Agriculture Gurvinder Singh and other senior officials of the Agriculture Department were also present in this meeting.
