ASI arrested in Ludhiana for seeking bribe

News Patiala:  An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) named Arun Kumar has been arrested by the Vigilance Bureau on charges of demanding a bribe of Rs. 6,000.

The complainant had approached the vigilance officials alleging that the ASI was demanding a bribe to present the records in court. The vigilance officials laid a trap and caught the ASI red-handed.

He said that the complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged the police personnel for the last few months his demanding a bribe. He said that the ASI said. This is the second time in recent months that an ASI in Ludhiana has been arrested for corruption.

The arrests of these ASIs send a strong message that the government is committed to fighting corruption.
