Yesterday Punjab Government issued a notification on 6 September 2022. In which A DC posts have been abolished in many districts.

Notification
As per the decision of the Council of Ministers in the meeting dated 28.07.2022. The Governor of Punjab abolished the existing posts of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) UD. At each district headquarters except Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Patiala. , Bathinda and S.A.S. Nagar. Govt decided that the powers currently with ADC (UD) in the remaining 17 districts will be devolved to ADC (G) or Commissioner Municipal Corporation of the respective district.
