The reigning champions’ Asia Cup success almost came to an end after the defeat against Sri Lanka. In this match, Team India’s bowling came out once again and they could not defend the struggling score of 173 runs in front of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka won this match by 6 wickets and almost closed the way for Team India to reach the final.
After Team India’s second consecutive defeat, many former legends including fans are questioning the team selection. The former cricketer of Team India, Harbhajan Singh, has raised many questions in front of the management after this defeat. Through a tweet, Harbhajan questioned the team management that where is Umran Malik, who bowls at a speed of 150 km per hour. Why is the team’s swing bowler Deepak Chahar not playing? Don’t these players deserve a place on the team? Why is Dinesh Karthik not getting continuous opportunities?
After all these questions, Harbhajan has finally written that it is disappointing. Harbhajan did not stop there and expressed disappointment over Dinesh Karthik not being included in the squad.
Talking to TV Today Network, Harbhajan said that he does not understand how Deepak Hooda can be given a chance to replace the in-form Karthik. He said that Hooda is also a good batsman, and his time will come but for now, it is beyond my understanding to keep Karthik out.
Harbhajan also talked about the change in the batting order. He said that middle order and top order do not work together. When the top order is played, there is no middle order, and when the middle order is played, there is no top order. He said that players like Ishan Kishan and Shikhar Dhawan should get a chance.
