All government institutions, corporations, boards and educational institutions will remain closed

Deputy Commissioner Malerkotla Mr. Sanyam Aggarwal has declared a holiday in the district on the occasion of Muharram (Yom-e-Ashura) on August 09 (Tuesday) under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.
The Deputy Commissioner said that on August 9, all government/semi-government offices, government/non-government and private educational institutions and banks will remain closed in Malerkotla district.
He said that these leave orders will not apply to the institutions in which the examinations are going on.
