The Aam Aadmi Party government is taking stern action against corruption. A team of the Vigilance Department raided the office of Ludhiana Municipal Improvement Trust on Thursday. It is learned that EO Kuljit Kaur and junior assistant Harmeet Singh have been arrested for taking bribes.
The vigilance team has taken EO Kuljit Kaur with them. A person from the city had lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister’s Corruption Helpline, after which action was taken. It is learned that Hatmeet Singh, an assistant of the Municipal Improvement Trust, was soliciting money from the complainant in the name of EO.
Kuljit Kaur, EO, Ludhiana Improvement Trust has been taken into custody by the Vigilance Department. A team from Mohali Vigilance’s Economic Crimes Branch has taken him into custody from Ludhiana. He is accused of soliciting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh and a Ludhiana resident lodged the complaint.
