From July 15, all government hospitals may be given booster or precautionary doses. But, the free dose will only be available for the next 75 days. Currently, the first and second doses of the corona vaccine in the country are free, while the booster dose has to be paid for.
Officials said on Wednesday that all adults would be able to receive free booster doses of the coronavirus vaccine at government centers under a special campaign in the next 75 days from Friday.
Aiming to improve the coverage of the Third Diet, the campaign will be held as part of the government’s ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. So far, 77 crores in the 18-59 age group Less than 1% of the target population has been given a precautionary dose.
About 26 percent of the estimated 160 million eligible population aged 60 and over, as well as healthcare and frontline workers, have received booster rations.
