News Patiala, July 31, 2022 – The Election Commission of India, making necessary amendments to the Representation of the People Act, 1950, is starting a campaign to link Aadhaar cards with the electoral roll from August 1, 2022.
She said that some amendments have also been made to the voter registration form for this purpose. She said that the aim of this campaign is to ensure that no person votes in two places and to make the voter list pure and transparent. The Commission has also made it clear that giving the Aadhaar card information to the voter is voluntary.
According to the District Election Officer, during this campaign, BLOs appointed at the booth level collected their Aadhaar card data form no. Will get 6-B and do it online through BLO App (Garuda).
Voters themselves can also link their Aadhaar card on the voter app ‘Voter Help Line’ or the online ‘NVSP’ portal developed by the Election Commission of India. She said that the work of linking the voter list with Aadhaar cards is to be completed by March 31, 2023. Thus, every voter considering his personal responsibility should link his vote with his Aadhaar card while supporting the District Election Office.
