Punjab Cabinet Sub-Committee Meeting Today:

AAP: A proposal is being prepared to make 36,000 contractual workers permanent in Punjab. In this regard, a meeting of the Punjab Cabinet Sub-Committee will be held on Tuesday. The meeting will be chaired by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema. He will be accompanied by Sports Minister Gurmeet Hare and Education Minister Harjot Bains. In the previous meeting, the sub-committee had sought information from all the officials about the contract employees of their departments. The complete record of which has now been found.
Chief Minister of ‘The AAP government Bhagwant Mann had announced that 36 thousand employees working in Punjab will be confirmed. A policy is being prepared after thinking about it to avoid any legal hurdle. For this, a sub-committee has been formed under the leadership of Finance Minister Harpal Cheema. In Higher Education Minister Gurmeet Meet Hare and Education Minister, Harjot Bains have also been placed.
During the previous Congress government, it was announced to fix these employees. The government under the leadership of then CM Charanjit Channi passed the resolution in the cabinet and sent it to the governor. But, it did not get the Governor’s approval. The governor’s office had objected to the pending cases in several courts and sought an explanation from the government. The Channi government did not remove the objections. Boards have already been set up across Punjab to secure the employees to benefit from the elections.
