Farmers in flood-affected areas can improve paddy and basmati paddy fields with these tips

Patiala, August 7: Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurnam Singh has advised farmers in flood-affected areas to improve their paddy and basmati paddy fields by following these tips:

  • Plant only pure varieties according to the recommendations of the University of Agriculture.
  • Soak the roots of the seedlings in 15 grams of Trichoderma Herginum per liter of water for 6 hours before planting.
  • If the field is flooded, put a tarpaulin in a tub or a pit or a trench to stop the water. Then, dissolve 1500 grams of Trichoderma Herginum in 100 liters of water and apply it to the roots of the seedlings after soaking them for 6 hours.
  • Avoid using the following 10 insecticides: Acephate, Boforofizin, Chloropariphos, Carbonbadazim, Hexaconazole, Propiconazole, Trisoclozole, Thiamthosim, Profanophos, and Amidacloprid. These insecticides can damage the quality of basmati crop.

By following these tips, farmers can improve their paddy and basmati paddy fields and get a good yield.
