| DC Patiala issues flood protection instructions |
News Patiala: DC Sakshi Sahni reviewed the strategy prepared by the district administrator for flood protection in the district. He directed the concerned departments that the rainfall should be sufficient during the last year.
He said all ongoing rescue operations should be completed before June 30. The DC said the monsoon season is starting from June 15. Therefore the Punjab Government has issued instructions that the team of District Administrator should be fully prepared for any situation in flood situation in Patiala.
He said that the flood control adventure established in the district administrative details should start from June 15. Communication plans prepared by various departments including Drainage, Irrigation, People, Mandy Board, Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Local Corporation and plans for fencing have been reviewed.
The DC also discussed disaster management with the Indian Army, NDRF, Health and Food and Civil Supplies Departments. He said that there is no negligence in any work. In the meeting ADC Gautam Jain, Gurpreet Singh Thind, Isha Singhal, SDM Dr. Ishmat Vijay Singh, Charanjit Singh, Kanu Garg, Navdeep Kumar and officials of the concerned department are present.
