Chandigarh, 24 January
There was a lot of confusion regarding the programs of hoisting of the national flag by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on the Republic Day celebrations. Late yesterday evening, the final decision was taken by the Chief Minister to hoist the national flag at Patiala itself, whereas before that, the Punjab government had shifted the Chief Minister’s program from Faridkot to Mohali, for which the outstanding letter was also issued. Similarly, the reason for the program change has also turned out to be something else.
Earlier, the officials of Mohali and Patiala were also trapped in this confusion. Due to frequent changes in the programs, many media could not know about the new program till late evening. Finally, the Chief Minister’s program in Patiala has been sealed. Remember that earlier the Chief Minister had a program to hoist the national flag at Faridkot.
According to important sources, a channel in Delhi has a program of AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on January 25, which is expected to end around three o’clock on that day. According to the protocol, the Chief Minister and the ministers have to reach the place where the national flag will be hoisted by the evening on January 25. Due to Republic Day, Delhi is in the ‘No Fly Zone’ due to which the Chief Minister could not come to Faridkot by air.
Sources say that similarly, it was not possible for the Chief Minister to reach Faridkot from Delhi at the specified time by road, so it was decided to choose a place between Mohali and Patiala. Mohali was chosen first and at the last moment, the program of hoisting the national flag of the Chief Minister was finalized at Patiala.
