The incident happened in Birampur forest area; The police registered a case under the Wildlife Protection Act and continued the investigation

The police said on Tuesday that a leopard died due to getting stuck in the iron wire fence erected around a white orchard in the Birampur forest area here. The leopard was found dead at the scene on Monday morning.
This incident came to light on Monday when Garhshankar Forest Range Officer Rajpal Singh and Forest Guard Ramanpreet Kaur informed the police about it.
Following Rajpal Singh’s complaint, the police have registered a case against the owner of the garden concerned for violation of the Wildlife Protection Act, 2022. The police said that further investigation is being conducted to ascertain the cause of the death of the leopard. -News-Patiala
