Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences to the families of the eight persons killed in a tragic bus accident in Bathinda, Punjab. He announced a financial compensation of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the family members of those killed in the accident and ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 to the injured.
Mr. Modi said that he is saddened by the loss of life due to the bus accident in Bathinda. Sympathy goes out to those who have lost loved ones. Wished for speedy recovery of the injured.
Bathinda Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ahmed Pare said that five of the eight deceased have been identified and three are yet to be identified. He said that a two-year-old girl is also included in the dead. Bathinda SSP Amanit Kondal said that 46 passengers have been rescued.
