Farmer Protest: Doctors who went to convince Dallewal for treatment returned disappointed

Patiala/Patdar, 27 December

Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on a fast to death on Dhabigujars to get the demands of the farmers, has clearly told the doctors today that he will not undergo his treatment. Meanwhile, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema today met Dallewal and assured the support of the government. Principal Buddha Ram, Manjit Bilaspuri and Karamjit Anmol etc. were also present with him.

Dr. Medical Superintendent from Government Rajindra Hospital of Patiala. A team of doctors headed by Garish Sahni tried to persuade Dallewal to seek treatment, but the farmer leader said that he would continue his fast until the demands were met.

Dr. Sahni asked Dallewal to continue his death fast but to give him medicine through glucose etc. so that his struggle could continue.

Patiala DIG Mandeep Sidhu and SSP Dr. Nanak Singh also insisted that he accept everyone’s request for treatment, but Dallewal refused this offer. Meanwhile, Dallewal said that due to the deadly policies of the government, they may not be able to live of their own free will, but they will be able to die of their own free will. On the other hand, even in the rain today, the farmers continued to stand where the gathering is continuously increasing.
