Patiala Police have arrested a jeweler’s craftsman for stealing gold worth 18 tolas and a car from a jewelry store in the city. The accused, Pankaj Sarin alias Sonu, was arrested from Hoshiarpur and Ravinder Nath Behra son of Gavardhan Behra was arrested from West Bengal.
The police have recovered the stolen gold and car from the accused. The theft had taken place last month and the police had registered a case under IPC sections 406, 408, 420 and 120-B.
The investigation into the case was led by HO In-charge Sukhwinder Singh under the supervision of SSP Varun Sharma, SP City Sarfraz Alam and DSP Sanjeev Singla.
The arrest of the accused is a major breakthrough in the case and the police are now investigating to see if there are any other people involved in the theft.
