According to website Cricbuzz, ‘Discussions are going on between Lucknow Supergiants and Mumbai Indians regarding the trade of Shardul Thakur and Arjun Tendulkar.’ As per the IPL business rules, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) must officially announce the transfer of players. Hence, no official statement has been issued by the franchise teams yet. According to the report, sources in the Mumbai cricket world have confirmed that a swap is likely. It is expected to be announced in the next few days. The list of retained and released players is also expected to be released on November 15 by 5 pm.

LSG signed Shardul for ₹2 crore
Shardul Thakur, who captained the Mumbai team in domestic cricket, was signed by LSG at his base price of ₹2 crore before last season as he was not sold in the 2025 IPL mega auction in Jeddah. Thakur played 10 matches for LSG, contributing little with the bat (18 runs) but impressing with the ball, taking 13 wickets. Thakur, who often handled the new ball, initiated the bowling attack for the team and proved effective in this role.

Arjun Tendulkar has been a part of Mumbai Indians for two seasons. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for a base price of ₹20 lakh in both the auctions. Although he did not play a single match last season, he played four matches in the last two editions, three in 2023 and one last year. In total, Tendulkar has scored 13 runs and taken three wickets in five IPL matches. Tendulkar moved to Goa from Mumbai in domestic cricket two years ago and has since played 21 first-class matches.
