World Record Alert: During a cricket match in Pakistan, the opposing team failed to achieve the target of 40 runs. The 231-year-old world record in first-class cricket has now been broken. The Pakistan Television team set an important record by defending a target of 40 runs.
New Delhi- It is said that records are made only to be broken. The Pakistani team has broken the unbroken cricket record of 232 years. This is the first time in first-class cricket that a team has successfully defended a score of 40 runs. This match took place between PTV and SNGPL teams in Pakistan. The SNGPL team needed 40 runs to win the match, but the entire team returned to the pavilion with just 37 runs. PTV created a world record. Never before had a team defended such a low score. Earlier, in 1794, in a match between the Oldfields team and the Marylebone Cricket Club at Lord’s, the team was bowled out for 34 runs chasing a target of 41 runs. This cricket record has now been broken, and the Pakistani team has created a new record.
Pakistan TV (PTV) successfully defended the lowest score in first-class cricket history in the President’s Trophy, breaking a 232-year-old record. PTV registered their name in the record books by defending a target of 40 runs against Sui Northern Gas. PTV won the match by just two runs, breaking a 232-year-old record. Earlier, in 1794, the Oldfield team defended 41 runs against MCC at Lord’s to win by six runs.

PTV’s left-arm spinner Ali Usman was instrumental in creating history with six wickets for nine runs, bowling out Sui Northern for just 37 runs. In this four-day match, PTV were bowled out for just 166 runs in their first innings. In reply, Sui Northern scored 238 to take a lead of 72 runs. PTV could only score 111 runs in the second innings, leaving them with a total lead of 40 runs. It looked like the match had slipped away, but it didn’t.
At the National Stadium in Karachi, SNPL captain Shamil Hussain won the toss and invited PTV to bat. PTV collapsed on 166 runs. Amad Butt scored the highest 46 runs. Shahzad Gul took 4 wickets for 40 runs for SNGPL. In reply, wicketkeeper Saifullah Bangash (71) took SNGPL to 238 from 129-7. Butt (3-42), Israr Hussain (3-66), and Ali Usman (4-66) bowled brilliantly for PTV.
