Apple has updated its vintage list to include an iPhone and some other products. Along with the iPhone 11 Pro launched in 2019, the company has also included Apple Watch Series 5, 13-inch MacBook Air, iPad Air 3 and iPhone 8 Plus, which came with Intel processor in 2020, in the vintage list. Let us tell you that Apple had also included iPhone SE first generation in this list last month.
iPhone 11 Pro is a modern smartphone
Compared to other products, the inclusion of iPhone 11 Pro in the widget list has remained a topic of discussion. Even though it has been a long time since this iPhone was launched, millions of people still use it and it is considered a modern smartphone. It has a powerful camera setup and OLED display. Besides, it also supports Apple’s latest software update iOS26.
What does Apple consider a vintage product?
Apple considers those products as vintage, whose sales have been completed for more than 5 years. If a product is included in the vintage list, it means that Apple does not guarantee to repair it. This means that you can take the vintage product to Apple’s authorized service center for repair, but there will be no guarantee that it will be repaired there. It will be repaired only if parts are available at the service center.
Products become obsolete after seven years
While products are included in the vintage list after 5 years of stopping the sale, they are put in the obsolete list after 7 years. Apple stops providing hardware support for these products. If you take an obsolete product to Apple’s service center, it will neither be repaired nor new parts will be available there. In such a situation, the user is only left with the option of getting it repaired from a third-party service center.
