The Bangladesh cricket team has announced its squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Liton Kumar Das has been appointed as the captain of the team.

Amid the ongoing IPL controversy over Mustafizur Rahman, Bangladesh have announced their squad for the T20 World Cup. Liton Kumar Das has been named captain for the T20 World Cup, while Mohammad Saif Hasan has been named vice-captain. Fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has also been included in the Bangladesh squad, leading the pace bowling.

The ICC T20 World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka starts on February 7 next month. Bangladesh will play all their league matches in India. The team will play three of its league matches in Kolkata and one in Mumbai.

Bangladesh team is in Group C

Bangladesh are in Group C, also known as the Group of Death. The group includes England and two-time T20 World Cup champions, the West Indies. The team will also face Nepal and Italy. Barring Italy, all other matches will be challenging for Bangladesh. Such a team will have to do their best to make it to the Super 8.

Bangladesh schedule and venue for T20 World Cup

Regarding Bangladesh’s schedule for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, their first match is against the West Indies on February 7. This match will be played at Eden Garden in Kolkata. The team will face Italy in their second match on February 9. This match will also be played at Eden Gardens. Bangladesh’s third and biggest match is against England on February 14 at the Eden Gardens. After this, the team will play their last league match against Nepal on February 17 at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai.
