Indian Railways is constantly taking new steps to make passenger journeys more special. Now, Vande Bharat trains will give passengers a taste of the local region, making their journey a cultural experience. Further, cracking down on fraudulent ticket bookings is expected to benefit genuine passengers substantially.
New Delhi- Indian Railways is continuously taking steps to make the journeys of passengers not only comfortable but also memorable. In this regard, Railways has taken a major decision regarding Vande Bharat trains. Travelers will now be served the local cuisine of the region, allowing them to experience the culture and flavors of the state during their journey. Besides, strict action is being taken against fake IDs to ensure a clean and transparent ticket booking system.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has directed that local and traditional cuisine be included in Vande Bharat trains. It aims to increase passenger satisfaction and make rail travel a cultural experience. Trains passing through different states will serve popular dishes of those states. Railways believes that this will not only give passengers better food but also give them an opportunity to connect with the identity and flavor of the region. In future, this arrangement will be gradually implemented on other trains as well.
In a review meeting held at Rail Bhawan, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu reviewed the progress of passenger facilities and ticketing systems with officials. The meeting emphasized the need to make railway services more passenger-friendly and transparent. The officials were directed to pay special attention to aspects like food quality, timely service and cleanliness, so as to ensure a pleasant journey for the passengers.
The meeting also discussed the results of the action taken on booking tickets using fake IDs. The Railway Minister said that after implementing a strict identity verification system, the number of new user IDs created daily on the IRCTC website has come down to around 5,000, as against the previous figure of around 100,000 per day. Till date, Railways has closed 30.3 million fake accounts. Additionally, 27 million user IDs have been temporarily suspended or flagged for suspicious activity.
The Railways Minister and the Minister of State for Railways directed the officials to further strengthen the ticketing system to ensure that genuine passengers can get tickets easily. These measures will ensure travelers get better, local flavored food, as well as curb brokers and fraudulent bookings. Overall, these railway initiatives will prove to be a significant game changer in making travel safer, more reliable and memorable.
