Aam Aadmi Party’s Jalandhar Central Constituency Incharge Nitin Kohli has announced important good news for the people of Central Constituency regarding Fit Central Jalandhar campaign. He said that through Fitt Central, concrete steps are being taken to make Jalandhar Central a hub for health, sports and an active lifestyle.
Nitin Kohli said that, based on this successful initiative, 14 new sports courts will now be constructed, which will be fully completed by the end of January. These courts will have better facilities for children, youth and senior citizens to play sports like badminton, volleyball and basketball.
He further said that once all the courts are completed, an inter-ward sports league will be organized under Fitt Central. The league will be launched after the children’s exams in March, providing opportunities for local sports talent to flourish and strengthening the sports culture at the ward level.
What is Fit Central?
Fit Central Jalandhar is a people-based fitness and sports promotion campaign aimed at motivating the people of the city, especially the youth and children, to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Under this initiative, parks are being developed with modern sports courts, open gyms, walking tracks and a safe and comfortable environment for sports activities, enabling people to play and exercise in their neighbourhood. Fit Central aims to make sports a mass movement and keep the youth away from social evils like drugs.
Nitin Kohli said that in the first phase of the Fit Central campaign, construction of sports courts was started in various parks of the Central Constituency. Currently, work is underway on courts in six parks, two of which have completed construction, while work is progressing rapidly in the remaining four.
He said that Fit Central has received a lot of love and support from the public. “Now, people are no longer limited to morning walks but are showing interest in sports as well. This is the biggest success of this campaign.”
He urged the residents of the area to participate in sports activities in large numbers to make the Fit Central campaign a success. He said that public participation is essential for building a healthy society and a strong Jalandhar.
