What are the IPL Rules?
Brook’s ban will last until 2028
As per the rules, Harry Brook will not be able to play in IPL till 2028. He can register for IPL 2028 mega auction. Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar wrote in his column in Mid-Day that a player who does not respect the IPL and makes himself available for a limited time should not be allowed to participate in the auction. Gavaskar might also be referring to Josh Inglis, as the Australian batsman will be available to play just four matches in IPL 2026. Gavaskar wrote in his column, “There are some players who have made themselves available for a limited time. Frankly, if a player doesn’t respect the IPL and makes himself available for the entire tournament, he shouldn’t even be in the auction.”
