Agniveer recruitment is open to both men and women, allowing women to join the armed forces. Selected candidates will serve in the army for a fixed period. On completion, they will receive a skills certificate and a financial package to support further education and employment. The scheme promotes discipline, leadership, teamwork and patriotism among the youth, as well as lays a strong career foundation for the future.
