Punjab News: The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has arrested two key members of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldi Brar gang during an encounter near Wadala Chowk on Wednesday morning. The accused have been arrested with four illegal weapons, live cartridges and a vehicle.
The clash took place when the gang members were allegedly planning a major incident in Jalandhar. Meanwhile, when the police arrived to arrest them, they opened fire on the police team. The police retaliated by shooting and injuring one of the gangsters in the leg, while the other was also arrested while trying to escape.
Jalandhar Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma confirmed the arrests and said, “The accused are associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and were wanted in previous cases. We are probing the possibility of their involvement in larger criminal activities.”

Both the accused were taken to Civil Hospital for treatment. Initial investigation reveals that the two were plotting a major crime in the city. Police officials said that more information will come out soon after his treatment is completed.
Information about this has also been given by Director General of Police, Punjab – Gaurav Yadav in a post on the social media platform ‘X’. He has termed it as a ‘big success’ of the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police.
