Two children died after a fire broke out in a farm hut in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district. An official said that the incident took place on Friday morning in Itwan Khas village, about 30 km from the district headquarters. Brijpur police station inspector Bhanu Pratap Singh said the victims, Ankit (3) and Sandeep (2), were sleeping and their parents had gone out to collect firewood when the fire broke out around 9 am.
He said that an investigation is being conducted to find out the cause of the fire. Talking to News-Patiala, Panna District Collector Suresh Kumar said that the officials reached the spot after receiving information about the fire. He said that the parents of the deceased boys will be given financial assistance of Rs 8 lakh. News-Patiala
