Mumbai, January 3
Sensex and Nifty declined in early trade on Friday. BSE’s 30-share Sensex fell 181.04 points to 79,762.67 despite a positive start. The NSE Nifty closed down 56.55 points at 24,132.10. Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, ITC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Sun Pharma and HDFC Bank were the major losers from the Sensex. NTPC, Tata Motors, Nestlé and Adani Ports companies grew.
US markets were in negative territory on Thursday. Foreign institutional investors emerged as buyers on Thursday after being net sellers for the past several days. According to exchange data, FIIs bought equities worth Rs 1,506.75 crore. News-Patiala
