In the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor last year at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, the Sealdah Court will pronounce its verdict on January 18. The CBI has demanded death penalty to the accused Sanjay Roy. On the orders of the Calcutta High Court, the Kolkata Police had handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI. After the hearing of the case was completed today, the Additional District and Sessions Judge of the Sealdah Court said that the verdict will be pronounced on January 18. Remember that the dead body of the victim female doctor was found in the seminar room of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9. Kolkata Police arrested Roy the next day. The trial of the case started from November 12 under camera surveillance. -News-Patiala
