Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and Haryana, has been declared a ‘no fly zone’ on the arrival of Republic Day. These orders have been issued by Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh Nishant Kumar Yadav. He said that the Union Territory of Chandigarh has been declared a ‘no fly zone’ from January 17 to 26. Meanwhile, the use of drones has been completely banned in the city. A Chandigarh administration official said that a large number of VVIPs will arrive at the Republic Day function to be held in Sector-17 of Chandigarh on January 26. Senior officials of Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Central Government will also be present in it. At the same time, Chandigarh has been declared a ‘no fly zone’ after seeing any untoward incident by drone. The Deputy Commissioner said that the police, military, air force, SPG commando or employees posted on government duty will be exempted from these orders. He said that legal action will be taken against the person who does not follow the orders.
