The district administration here has taken another step in the direction of women empowerment. The Sangrur administration in collaboration with Vardhman Special Steels Limited has started a pilot project from Satauj village to strengthen women micro-entrepreneurs for digital financial literacy. . On this occasion, a mobile application ‘MeraBills App’ prepared in Gurmukhi language was launched to enable women entrepreneurs associated with the district administration’s initiative project to raise the level of their business, which will help these women to keep their accounts. Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Rishi said that 3741 self help groups are functioning to raise the standard of living of rural women in district Sangrur and the women members of these groups prepare and sell various products by hand. He said that a digital financial literacy project has been implemented by Vardhaman Special Steels Limited to connect about 5 thousand rural women of district Sangarar with ‘MeraBills App’ under CSR under the empowerment of women power. Chief Minister’s sister Manpreet Kaur said that this is an important initiative in the direction of making village women self-reliant. Sachit Jain, Vice Chairman of Vardhaman Special Steels Limited, said that some other exclusive initiatives are being taken by his company in Satauj, under which they have requested about 20 acres of land from the Punjab government to prepare Mian Waki forest in Satauj or nearby villages. has gone Piya Bahadur, CEO of Merabilz App also spoke during the event.
