The Pakistan court today dismissed the petition seeking to change the name of Shadman Chowk Lahore after freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and install his statue there. The court official said, “Lahore High Court Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza today decided the petition of Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan, in which Shadman Chowk Lahore was demanded to be named after Bhagat Singh and that An appeal was made to install his statue at the place. where they were hanged.’
The judge dismissed the petition after hearing the arguments of the lawyers of the Lahore Corporation and the Foundation. Advocate Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi, chairman of the foundation, said that he would challenge the decision of the Lahore High Court in the Supreme Court.
