Parvesh Verma filed nomination from New Delhi Constituency

BJP leader Pravesh Verma has filed his nomination papers from the New Delhi Assembly constituency for the assembly elections to be held on February 5 in the national capital. Parvesh Verma is in the fray against Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and Sandeep Dixit of Congress. Meanwhile, Parvesh Verma said that this nomination has been filed for the progress of Delhi and the BJP will definitely win from the New Delhi seat.

The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in a single phase on February 5 and the counting of votes will be held on February 8. According to information, Parvesh Verma filed nomination papers with hundreds of supporters in the District Magistrate’s office. It may be mentioned that BJP leader Pravesh Verma is the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma. His political career began when he contested the 2013 assembly elections from the Mehrauli assembly constituency, defeating the then MLA Yogananda Shastri. He then won the West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency in the 2014 general elections. In 2019, Verma won a second term as Member of Parliament from West Delhi.

BJP leaders paid obeisance in temples before filing nominations

New Delhi:

Several leaders, including senior BJP leader Vijendra Gupta, offered pooja at temples before filing their nomination papers for the Delhi Assembly elections. Meanwhile, Vijender Gupta performed Havan with Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and party workers before filing his nomination papers from Rohini seat and later held a road show in the constituency. Similarly, former minister and BJP candidate from Bijwasan seat Kailash Gehlot performed pooja at Sri Hari Mandir in Vasant Kunj before filing his nomination papers. BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri filed nomination papers from Kalkaji constituency. It may be mentioned that the BJP has announced 57 candidates so far, while the names of 11 candidates are yet to be announced. -News-Patiala
