At least four people, including three school children, were killed and eight others injured in a horrific road accident in Jharkhand. A tragic road accident took place on Wednesday morning near Tirla Chowk in Gola police station area of Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district. The accident took place when a truck loaded with potatoes overturned and fell on an auto-rickshaw carrying school students.
In the accident, children aged five to eight years were buried under the truck. Three children and the auto driver died on the spot despite the efforts of the passersby who reached the spot to save them. Family members of the children and local people blocked the road at the accident site, which led to a long traffic jam in the area. Ramgarh MLA Mamata Devi visited the incident site.
It may be mentioned that the state government had ordered to keep all government and private schools closed till January 13 due to severe cold. However, the Goodwill Mission School defied this directive and remained open.
Due to which local people and parents are holding the school management responsible for this accident. The administrative officials present at the spot said that appropriate action will be taken against the school violating the government orders. According to the information, the truck driver fled from the spot after the accident, and the administration is conducting a raid to arrest him. –IANS
