New Delhi, January 5
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 13 km long Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor connecting UP’s Sahibabad with New Ashok Nagar. Mr. Modi also traveled by Namo Bharat train from Sahibabad station to New Ashok Nagar station. Meanwhile, Mr. Modi also met children and people. Namo Bharat trains have now reached the national capital with the inauguration of Delhi section of RRTS. The 55 km long RRTS corridor between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut Deccan, which has 11 stations, has now become operational. This corridor will be open for passengers from 5 pm in the evening and trains will be available every 15 minutes. The fare from New Ashok Nagar station to Meerut South station will be Rs 150 for standard coach and Rs 225 for premium coach. Earlier, the Prime Minister had inaugurated the 17 km long priority section between Sahibbad and Duhai Depot on October 20 last year.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Janakpuri West-Krishna Park extension section of the fourth phase of Delhi Metro and laid the foundation stone of the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor. Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension segment is the first segment of Delhi Metro Phase 4 to be inaugurated. Passenger services have started on this section from 3 pm. With this new station, Delhi Metro now has 289 stations in a radius of 394.448 km.
