There are reports of an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Sunday morning. A senior police officer said that a joint team of security forces had conducted an anti-Naxal operation in the forest area under Mader police station. Meanwhile, there was an encounter between the Naxalites and the security forces. The officer said that the district reserve guard, special task force and the personnel of the district force are involved in this operation. The competition was ongoing till the time of writing and more details were awaited. -News-Patiala
