School Reopen : Schools are closed in North India due to bitter cold and in South India, school holidays are underway due to Pongal. Holidays in several states of North India have been extended till January 18 due to cold weather. Then January 19th is Sunday. Thus, schools will now open on January 20 if the holidays are not extended.
On the other hand, in the southern states, Pongal is celebrated on 14 January, Tiruvallur Day on 15 January and Ujhavar Tirunal Day on 16 January. After this, on the basis of demand, a holiday was also announced on January 17.
The Tamil Nadu government has announced a 10-day holiday in schools and government offices on the occasion of Pongal festival. The holiday started on January 11 and will end on January 19. Let’s know which states will open schools on January 20.
Uttar Pradesh
The primary education department of Uttar Pradesh had extended the school holidays till January 17 due to cold weather. Accordingly, schools have opened in many districts today. Which includes districts like Lucknow. Similarly, in many districts like Agra, Etawah, Aligarh, Etah and Ghaziabad, orders have been issued to keep schools closed till January 18. Thus, schools in these districts will now open on January 20.
Rajasthan
In Rajasthan too, holidays have been extended due to cold and rain. Schools will remain closed till January 18 in several districts, including Kota and Digg. In such a situation, schools are going to open on January 20 here as well.
Bihar
In view of the bitter cold, the DM of Patna has once again decided to keep schools from class I to VIII closed. Schools here will remain closed till January 18.
Jammu and Kashmir
The longest winter vacation has been announced in Jammu and Kashmir. Schools here will remain closed till February 28.
