Chhattisgarh: Nine killed including eight jawans in Naxalite attack

Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-hit Bijapur district today blew up a security forces vehicle by detonating a land mine. Nine persons including eight jawans died in this attack. The police gave this information.

Police officials said that the Naxalites blew up the vehicle of the security forces by detonating a landmine near Ambeli village under Kutru police station area of ​​the district. He said that eight jawans of Dantewada District Reserve Guard (DRG) were martyred in this incident and the driver of the vehicle also died.

Officials said that a joint team of Dantewada, Narayanpura and Bijapur districts was dispatched for the anti-Naxal campaign. Today, when the team was returning from the campaign, at around 2.15 in the afternoon, near Ambeli village under Kutru police station area, the Naxalites detonated a land mine and blew up the vehicle of the security forces.

Officials said that additional security forces have been dispatched to the incident site. More information is being sought in this regard. Earlier on April 26, 2023, Naxalites blew up an MUV in a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel in the neighboring Dantewada district. 10 policemen and one driver died in this incident. -News-Patiala
